In class this week all the students and staff met together to get to know each other. The overwhelming theme that came through was that we are all broken and in need of a Redeemer. As the stories came out, God’s grace was evident in each life. We are honored to be a part of the group.
Here is a list of the classes I’ll be taking this year:
- Systematic Theology
- Biblical Overview classes working through the Old and New Testaments
- Individual book classes on Acts, Romans, and Hebrews
- World Christian Movement which includes most of the Perspectives curriculum
- LRI Training – Focuses on how to train national pastors to preach the Bible correctly
- MentorNet – Church planting philosophy
- History of Missions
In addition to these classes I’ll be going to Mexico 7 times and to PNG for 3-4 weeks in February. It’s going to be a busy nine months! Please be in prayer for the staff, teachers, students, and especially for the families.
This week I’ll be leaving on Thursday for Minneapolis, Minnesota to go to the Desiring God conference. David Sitton, the founder and president of To Every Tribe, is speaking at one of the breakout sessions. Most of the staff and a few students are travelling up there to attend the conference and support David. Pray that many will respond to the call to take the Gospel to the nations.
David’s book Reckless Abandon will launch at the Desiring God conference as well. It chronicles his conversion, call to missions, experiences in PNG, and how To Every Tribe was started. It’s a quick easy read, and if you are interested in international church planting at all, I would suggest you pick up a copy to read.
Our monthly support status is below. I would be happy to talk to anyone interested in more detail. Just drop me an email or give me a call. We are appreciative of the sacrifices that are being made to support us in the ministry to which God has called our family.
I’ll try to put another update together after the Desiring God conference and the first Mexico trip. Until then, “Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love incorruptible.”
