I will be going to southern Mexico in two weeks with a team of 17 people to a Zapoteco Indian village in the mountains of Oaxaca. Because of security considerations for us and the people of the village, I will not mention it by name. The purpose of the trip is to conduct a three-day medical and dental clinic. Hopefully this clinic will allow us to love, serve, and gain the trust of this people group for the advance of the Gospel among them. This village is a new work for To Every Tribe and there are plans to move a team into this village in the next two years.
Leaving from Los Fresnos, we will drive for 3 days to Oaxaca City. The fourth day we will travel for 5-6 hours on mountain roads to get to the village. Most of the villagers do not speak Spanish which will require two translations for non-Spanish speakers (like me) to talk to the locals. Thankfully, we will have 9 Spanish speakers on our team to help with some of the translation.
Most of you know that I’m not exactly a medical (or dental) expert, so my role as a student on this trip will be helping to cook and fill in wherever needed.
Here are some specific prayer requests:
- Acquisition of medications
- Ease of border crossings
- Safety in travel
- Freedom from problems with police/military

Thank you so much Greg. I can only boast in Christ and promise you that anything that you see in me worthy of inspiration is not me.
I hope you're keeping those guys at Compass in line 🙂
