Home, Sweet Home

I finally found my camera battery, so I thought I would give you a quick tour of the cozy little rental house that we call “home” here in Los Fresnos.

This first picture is the bedroom that Olivia and Everett share. The bunk beds were a great idea, and really open up the floor space so they have ample room to play.

This is Sam’s bedroom. Take a good look as this may be the last picture I post on here, because, well, my fourteen year old boy doesn’t quite thrive on neatness. The term “disorganized chaos” suits his bedroom on most days.

This is our kitchen. It’s much bigger than we thought it would be, and the only things I really miss are my gas stove and the dishwasher. Fortunately, I have three helpers who just love to wash dishes. Well, maybe “love” isn’t the correct term…

Here is the eating area/school room. This area is such a blessing, as it gets used all day, every day for dinner prep, meals, school work, and science and art projects.

This is our living room. I know. It looks very…brown. Without my green walls, light colored carpet, and sunlight streaming through our foyer and dining room windows, the decor is decidedly dark. However, it feels very much like home since all of the furniture, pictures, and curtains are from our house in Gardendale. I may have to work on lightening it up a bit.

And here we are in front of the house (well, everyone except me). We’re very fortunate to have beautiful scenery surrounding us; there are palm trees all around the house and oleanders outlining the back yard.

So there’s a little glimpse of our humble abode here in southern Texas. I have more pictures of the kids doing school, playing outside, and everyone at the beach that I’ll hopefully be posting soon. In the meantime, we want you to know that we love you all! We’re praying for everyone and would love to know what’s going on with you. You know how the saying goes: “Absence makes the heart grow fonder”. I most definitely concur! We miss you all so much!
One quick prayer request:
Tomorrow (Thursday), Jeremy will be heading to Mexico for a few days, so please keep him and the rest of the team from the CPCP in your prayers. He’s planning to post an update when he returns. Thanks!
