Exciting News for the Sanders Family!

We received our Papua New Guinea visas this week! We also received word that our crates have made it all the way to the port in PNG and will be ready to be moved to Goroka once they clear customs.

To celebrate all this exciting news we’ve decided to share some very special items with you guys. So many of you have been with us on this journey from the beginning, and we are so thankful for that. Now there’s a way to remember us when we’re on the other side of the world as well as support our ministry!

These shirts were designed by our teammate, Kelley Sisson. The front says “Bai Yu Beten?”, which is Tok Pisin for “Will You Pray?” The back of the shirt has a map of Papua New Guinea, along with Luke 10:2 in Tok Pisin:

Na em i tokim ol olsem, “Planti kaikai tumas i mau pinis long gaden, tasol i no gat planti wokman i stap bilong kisim. Olsem na yupela i mas beten long Papa bilong gaden, bai em i ken salim ol wokman i go bungim kaikai bilong en.”

Translation:
And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

The books are full of photographs that we took while visiting Papua New Guinea last September. These photos showcase some of the beauty and complexity of the many cultures in Papua New Guinea. In addition to photos you’ll see lots of Tok Pisin scripture throughout the book, as well as a few pictures of our family living life in PNG.

We will be taking pre-orders for shirts until October 11th, and they will be available by November 1st. If you are local we can hand deliver to you. If you would like us to ship the items we need to add a $3.00 shipping charge per order. The books are available right away and the same shipping charges apply. We only have about twenty books available, so if you want one make sure you order soon!

Thank you so much for supporting us in a million ways. We hope that these shirts and books will be a blessing to you in the coming years!

Special Prayer Requests

  • Jeremy will be having surgery to repair his rotator cuff on Wednesday morning at Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham. Please be in prayer for Jeremy as he goes through surgery, for the surgeon and hospital staff as they take care of him, and for the kids and Kandy as they serve him during the recovery period. Also pray that recovery will be smooth and that Jeremy will be released in plenty of time to do everything that needs to be done before December.
  • Please keep us in your prayers as we make final preparations over the next two months for our move to Papua New Guinea in December.
  • Remember to pray for our teammates, Alex and Kelley Sisson, who are already in Papua New Guinea.
  • Our other teammate, Matt Taylor, will be joining us in January. Pray for him as he gets ready for his move to the foreign mission field.
